At this pool villa in Semarang, Indonesia, changing light brings out the texture of the walls. A muted material palette, an infinity pool and a planted courtyard give the residence a calm, refined atmosphere with a touch of Zen.

01. A Private Home, Open to Nature
The villa’s architects balance privacy with openness and a sense of flow. The infinity pool and carefully composed landscaping connect the living spaces with their surroundings.

In the courtyard, fine sand, stones and a pruned bonsai tree create a quiet garden scene. The designers have considered each corner to bring residents closer to nature.
02. Natural Texture in a Contemporary Setting
For the interior and exterior walls, the project uses 21PARKHOUSE® Glacier Stone flexible stone. Its glacial-rock texture introduces irregular relief and a raw, natural character to the modern architecture.

Alongside its appearance, the design team selected flexible stone for its water, moisture and ageing resistance. These properties suit humid tropical conditions and help address the weathering and moisture-related problems that can affect wall finishes.

03. Material Performance in Everyday Use
Recreating Natural Surfaces
21PARKHOUSE® uses a 3D coating process to reproduce the texture and colour of natural stone, timber and woven materials. At the Semarang villa, Glacier Stone’s raised surface and staggered joints give the wall depth, while the restrained grey finish works with the surrounding timber and planting.

Ageing Resistance
21PARKHOUSE® flexible stone is tested to withstand 2,000 hours of accelerated Xenon arc weathering, equivalent to 30–50 years of severe outdoor exposure without surface embrittlement, chalking, or discoloration. The inorganic mineral composite ensures minimal lifecycle maintenance and lasting facade integrity.

Water and Moisture Resistance
Engineered for wet and high-humidity environments, 21PARKHOUSE® flexible stone provides complete water repellency and salt spray resistance. The dense, non-porous mineral matrix prevents efflorescence and moisture-related spalling, making it ideal for poolside terraces, exterior boundary walls, and coastal microclimates.

By combining natural surface detail with moisture and ageing resistance, 21PARKHOUSE® gives designers more options for contemporary interiors and exterior walls. At this villa, Glacier Stone brings a consistent material character to spaces for swimming, relaxing and enjoying the garden.
