The fundamental raw materials are derived from natural renewable inorganic substances such as stone powder, mineral powder, and clay, separated into "Cardamia® Four Primary Colors" of red, yellow, white, and gray, and ground into microscopic powder. By modifying active particles, a new type of material, Econic Clay is granulated at low temperatures, safe and non-toxic, with 100% recyclability from production to recycling, embodying the concept of carbon neutrality.
Typically, after continuous exposure to sunlight and rain, general industrial products tend to age and fade, but products derived from Econic Clay are distinct.
Cardamia® has designed a nurturing process where, as the polymers within the product age under ultraviolet radiation, the active soil inside simultaneously absorbs water and activates to form a shape, with organic and inorganic elements alternating, extending the product's life cycle to over 40-50 years. It can be as hard as stone, as tough as a vine, and as soft as leather.
As a derivative of the Econic Clay, Cardamia® retains the superior qualities of natural soil minerals: fire resistance, moisture resistance, flexibility, and sustainability. Advanced 3D coating and other composite processes restore the true texture of natural stone, wood, and weaving, with clear textures and firm color locks, fulfilling more design imaginations.
**Class A Fire Resistance, Aging Resistance**
Cardamia® Econic Clay has been certified by the EU for Class A fire resistance and meets the Chinese national requirements for Class A2 fire-resistant building materials, making it particularly suitable for high-rise hotels, office buildings, and other constructions, facilitating swift fire safety inspections. Tested to prove its resistance to artificial aging for up to 2000 hours (equivalent to 40-50 years of outdoor use), it is suitable for interior and exterior walls, with simple and convenient maintenance, ensuring project safety.
**Harbin Ritz-Carlton Hotel**
*The hotel's original ceiling material did not meet Class A fire resistance requirements. After consultation with designers, Cardamia® Econic Clay in Hokkaido Bamboo Weave was customized for replacement, ensuring both fire safety standards and the preservation of design aesthetics.
**Indonesia Modena Experience Center**
*Located in Indonesia, where there is long sun exposure and high solar radiation intensity, the project has maintained a 90% newness rate since its completion in 2014.
**Waterproof and Moisture-Resistant, Breathable and Moisture-Absorbing**
Clay has the function of regulating humidity, and therefore the Econic Clay, made from clay as the raw material, also has good breathability. It is extremely water-resistant and capable of preventing moisture and absorption even during the plum rain season, preventing the growth of mold and viruses.
**Luoyang Erlitou Xiadu Site Museum**
*The interior walls use Cardamia® Econic Clay with a custom rammed earth texture, keeping the interior dry and protecting the collection from dampness.
**Flexible and Bendable**
Cardamia® Econic Clay is flexible and bendable, with a minimum bending radius of 200mm, good ductility, and the ability to conform to shapes without cracking. It can be directly applied to curved and cylindrical architectural walls without hanging, allowing design inspiration to transcend form.
**Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts Chang'an Campus**
*The exterior walls feature a large area of Cardamia® Econic Clay in Star Moon Stone, restoring the true texture of stone and achieving curved surface shapes with controllable costs.
**Sustainable**
Since the raw materials are all natural and renewable, and the production process achieves "zero pollution, zero emissions" the wider the use of Cardamia® Econic Clay, the more it can reduce the excessive exploitation of the ecosystem by traditional building materials. We hope to start with some simple changes to truly achieve "born from nature, returning to nature."
**Poly Sanya Rosewood Hotel**
*To address the issue of wood being prone to moisture and decay, designers replaced the interior walls of hotel rooms and bathrooms with Cardamia® Econic Clay in Maple Wood, and since the hotel opened in 2017, the product still maintains a 95% newness rate.
Today's soil is the gold of future generations.
We hope that in the matter of sustainable design,
We can work together,
To make design infinitely possible.
